Ensinger (Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA and Charme, Germany) has more than 50 years of experience in the field of thermoplastic materials, providing a broad portfolio of products and services for thermoplastic composites and other high-end composite solutions. This includes Tecatec CP fabric semipreg, Tecatec IP fabric prepreg, Tecatec OS organic sheet, powder shredding services, composite panels, tubes and parts.

Ensinger's Tecatec CP single-layer semi-preg is made of carbon fiber or glass fiber fabric coated with a thermoplastic matrix. Suitable matrix materials range from engineering polymers (such as polycarbonate and polyamide) to high-performance plastics (such as PEI, PEEK and PEKK). In addition to stock materials, Ensinger's internal compounding enables it to meet the requirements of most customers.

The product portfolio also includes Tecatec IP thermoplastic prepregs. They are a fully impregnated and consolidated single layer made of carbon fiber or glass fiber fabric. Provide a full range of matrix polymers. Ensinger also provides customized matrix and fiber combinations, fiber structures or matrix materials on request.

Thanks to the addition of a dual-belt press, Ensinger can now provide complete internal solutions, from granular polymers to fully consolidated multilayer composite laminates. Tecatec OS organic sheet is composed of several layers of prepreg or semi-preg material, which are stacked according to the customer's specifications, and then combined to form a laminated organic sheet with a thickness of up to 5 mm. The organic sheet is provided in the form of coil or sheet, which can be used for thermoforming parts or directly manufacturing thicker parts.

Ensinger recently invested in a polymer pulverizer that complies with the ATEX safety directive. By pulverizing polymers into tight tolerance powders, it provides customers with the cost competitive advantage that the company claims. It also provides customers with polymer crushing services.

Ensinger's thermoplastic composite panels can be used as standards for carbon fiber reinforced PEEK, glass fiber reinforced PEI, and carbon fiber reinforced PC and PPS for medical applications. Other materials and fiber combinations, fabric types or customized layer structures can be produced on request. Similarly, composite pipes are made of glass fiber or carbon fiber reinforced materials and selected thermoplastic matrix materials, which are suitable for industries such as oil and gas, sports and leisure or industrial applications. Composite pipes can be made smooth inside, outside or both, and have different fiber angles.

In addition to this product portfolio, Ensinger's factory in Germany is equipped with the most advanced technology and facilities, and has retained a team of experts to provide customer service and technical support. It also provides design and engineering experience in the development and manufacturing of thermoplastic composite parts used in various industries. Development services include laminate design, material selection, mechanical simulation, prototype manufacturing, size and mechanical testing.

Suppliers of thermoplastics and carbon fiber continue to develop the supply chain of PEEK and PEKK and now PAEK and in-situ integration-thermoplastic tape composite materials.

Coming soon and flying for the first time, the 787 relies on innovations in composite materials and processes to achieve its goals
